If your carpets don’t get cleaned regularly by a professional carpet cleaner, they can quickly damage through wear & tear, permanent stains, discolour and become dirty in high traffic areas.

Your carpets play an important role in maintaining a healthier indoor environment, acting as a filter, which collects and absorbs airborne pollutants such as allergens, pollen and dust mites, particularly in areas with heavy footfall.

Once these carpet filters fill, they can no longer hold pollutants, which may lead to these allergens rising into your breathing zone, resulting in an unhealthy indoor environment for you and your family. It then becomes important that you contact Bio-Carpet-Cleaning to discuss getting your carpets professional cleaned, ensuring these carpet fibres get emptied and receive a thorough deep down clean.

Carpet cleaners

Many of the London carpet cleaning companies claim to be the best but none of them can compare to London carpet cleaners. This is a claim I can make with all certainty. It isn’t out of conceit or an attempt to sway the consumers out there. Instead it is based on fact.

Allow me to introduce myself to you. I am Lukasz Sulyk, and I own London carpet cleaners. We are the leader in the areas of carpet cleaning as well as restoration projects. This is due to the fact that I have always been dedicated to providing each and every customer with the very best results. When carpets are taken care of properly they look better and they will last for years longer.

Everyone that works for me is an expert in the fields of cleaning and restoring carpets, rugs, and all types of fabrics. They are also trained in caring for hard surfaces that you may have on your floors. In addition to being very educated, they are also going to offer you the best when it comes to customer service. If they don’t have a desire to help our customers then they have no business being at my company.

I continue to stay on top of new technology and cleaning products that are introduced. I will never allow anything to be used on your flooring that isn’t safe for your floors as well as the environment. There are many different forms of cleaning methods that we incorporate as part of the job. This is due to the fact that there are many variations for how the different types of carpet should be properly cared for and we definitely don’t want to void out the warranty of your carpet. How many other carpet cleaning companies do you know of that even care about that?

I encourage you to take the time to explore the information on our website. It will help you to become more familiar with our cleaning process. I definitely want you to feel confident that you have made the right decision by hiring London carpet cleaners to take care of such matters for you.

It is our level of experience, our training, the products we use, the methods we use to clean floors, and our great customer service that have earned us the right to call ourselves the best professional business of carpet cleaning in London.

The main method of carpet and upholstery cleaning is steam cleaning. We find that steam cleaning otherwise known hot water extraction is the best process for heavily soiled carpets.

Other methods of carpet and upholstery methods are available but are better suited to a maintenance clean when your carpets or upholstery aren’t particularly dirty.

Steam-cleaning or hot water extraction initially involves the application of a detergent based solution. After appropriate dwell time, a pressurized manual or automatic cleaning tool (such as a wand) passes over the surface several times to thoroughly rinse out all residue and particulates.

Heavily soiled areas require the application of pre-treatment’s, pre-conditioners, or “traffic-lane cleaners”, which are detergents or emulsifiers that break the binding of soils to carpet fibers over a short period of time, are commonly sprayed onto carpet prior to the primary use of the dry-cleaning system. One chemical dissolves the greasy films that bind soils and prevent effective soil removal by vacuuming. The solution may add a solvent like d-limonene, petroleum by products, glycol ethers, or butyl agents. The amount of time the pre-treatment “dwells” in the carpet should be less than 15 minutes, due to the thorough carpet brushing common to these “very low moisture” systems, which provides added agitation to ensure the pre-treatment works fully through the carpet.

Post-extraction is by far the most important step in the hot water extraction process. Since the hot water extraction method uses much more water than other methods like bonnet or shampoo cleaning, proper post-extraction is critical to avoid over saturation.

  1. Make a solution of one part of white vinegar with one part of water.
  2. Apply to the stain using a spray bottle to saturate.
  3. Allow the stain to sit about ten to fifteen minutes.
  4. Use a sponge to clean in a rubbing motion.
  5. Rinse with warm water.
  6. Brush the pile back into the natural direction is has.
  7. Using layers of white paper towels, place paper towel on top of area, place a book on top of that.
Allow to sit like this until it has dried.

Option 2:
Ammonia solution: One teaspoon of clear, household type ammonia to a half of a cup of water.
This solution can be used in a spray bottle or be applied to the carpet directly.
It is important not to wet the carpets backing when apply. After applying solution, use white paper towels to blot.
Allow to dry completely.

Option 3:
Detergent solution: A detergent solution can be made of hand soap or dish soap.
The combination is one quarter of a teaspoon of detergent to one quart of water.

  1. Isopropyl rubbing alcohol can be purchased at your grocery store or department store.
  2. Apply it by pouring some onto a clean, white towel or other cloth.

Option 5:
Often, good old fashioned water can re-hydrate the stain to help with removal.
Large spills can be cleaned up with a wet dry vac or a steam cleaner.
Dry as thoroughly as possible.

Option 5:
Lemon juice can be used to remove some tough stains. To use it:

  1. Store bought lemon juice is fine as long as it does not contain added ingredients.
  2. Using a spray bottle, spray a good amount onto the effected area but do not wet the padding.
  3. Allow to sit up to five or six minutes.
  4. Blot with a paper towel to remove.

Carpet Repairs – How ?

CarpetRepairInstallation

How often you need to do your carpet repair, to a large extent, depends on you. Burns, crushing, bleeding, fading, furniture indentations, sprouting and carpet beetles among many others are some of the common problems faced by many. Most carpet repair jobs can be rectified without professional help, but there may be instances where you might need professional help.

Burns
This happens when a cigarette butt burns the carpet. If the burn is small, the burnt carpet fibers can be cut with scissors. For larger burns, you may have to replace the area with a new piece of carpet. You can either have a carpet installer do this or you can even do it yourself. Make a paper template slightly bigger than the hole. Cut out the damaged section using your template. From an unnoticeable corner (or another room), cut the template-sized carpet with a sharp knife. Now, fix it in the hole and seam the edges.Fuzzing
Fuzzing happens when loose fibers come out of the carpet edges. All you need to do is carefully cut the fibers sticking out.

Furniture Indentations
Heavy furniture can cause indentations to occur on the carpet. To get rid of these ugly marks, sprinkle the carpet with club soda and placing a towel, iron over the area. Wet it again and iron it a couple of times. You can see your carpet re-fluffing.

Shading/Crushing/Matting
Heavy foot traffic causes the surface of carpet to flatten, which may give some carpets a shaded appearance. In such a case the carpet repair job is to brush and vacuum the area. Crushing and matting also occur in areas of heavy traffic. The pile becomes flat and the carpet begins to look worn. If home re-fluffing methods fail, you may need carpet repair help from professionals.

Shedding/Snagging
Shedding happens when, with usage, fibers surface on the carpet. This is not a manufacturing defect, but a normal occurrence. Here, the carpet repair job entails vacuuming the area. Snags are tufts that have pulled out of the carpet surface. They occur more in loop pile carpets than cut pile ones. Never pull them off. Just cut them neatly with scissors.

Sprouting
A carpet is said to have sprouts when there are tufts on it, which are longer than the rest. Pulling them will only damage your carpet. Instead trim them neatly with scissors and level it with the rest of the pile.

Carpet Stains
Treat a stain immediately, before it can dry. Blot the liquid with a blotting paper or damp cloth but avoid getting the carpet too wet. To remove stains that have already dried, spray with a commercially available carpet cleaner and allow it to soak in for a few minutes. Then blot up the liquid. Do not rub stain. When dry, gently brush to restore pile. Go here more information on how to remove stains.Static Electricity
tatic electricity, among others depends on the material of the carpet, construction and carpet padding. Humidity also plays an important part as moisture in the air is absorbed by the carpet fibers. If there is sufficient moisture present, there will not be enough charge build up. Humidifiers help to retain moisture. You can also spray the carpet surface with an anti-static agent. Take care however, you buy a non-sticky anti static agent, to prevent carpet soiling.

Carpet Beetles
The best carpet repair job in such a case is strong vacuum suction. Avoid spillage and keep the carpet surface clean of food materials. Carpet beetles feed on wool, fur, hair, hides, seeds, grain, cereals and flour. Take care to clean the dark and undisturbed places in your house, as carpet beetle and their larvae thrive at such places. Use of naphthalene flakes or balls can give you limited protection. If however, your carpet is badly infested a professional cleaner can help you.

Bleeding/Crocking
Bleeding is the loss or transfer of color from one section of the carpet to another. Good under-layments can help prevent bleeding to some extent. Crocking is the loss of the carpets excess color when rubbed. So, avoid getting your carpet wet.

A neat carpet installation job can reduce your carpet repair worries to quite and extent. Sturdy seams (to hold the edges) and high quality adhesives (to avoid chemical odors) are things you can ensure. Although there are many small carpet repair jobs you can do yourself, sometimes a trained carpet installer can do a better job with old, worn or torn carpets. Most often, their services work out much cheaper than replacing the whole carpet.
